Join Cornell’s School of Integrative Plant Sciences and the Horticulture Weekly Section Seminar for a lecture from Frank Rossi.
In Person/Zoom: Monday, October 27, 2025, at 12:20 PM. 404 Plant Science, Cornell Ithaca Campus.
Description: Here’s my confession: I love grass—I just don’t always love what we do to it. As a plant scientist studying urban grasslands from golf courses to cemeteries, airports to school grounds, I’ve discovered that changing practices begins with data and works through trust built one conversation at a time. This seminar reveals how strategic research and patient education have driven dramatic reductions in nutrients, pesticides, and emissions across our most visible landscapes, demonstrated by our educational research with the Pollution Prevention Institute and highlighted at the 27th Ryder Cup held at The Bethpage State Park, recently featured in the Cornell Chronicle.
